Sixty children in our parish took one big step to making their First Holy Communion when they made their First Reconciliation (or Confession) on Wednesday, 6 October.
Fr Antonio led the service at St Joseph’s Church which included short prayers, an examination of conscience and a Gospel reading which told the familiar story of the prodigal son and the forgiving father. Three other priests were present to hear confessions: our own Fr Peter, Fr Clement from the Cheshunt parish and Fr Terry from the Hertford parish.
Catechists from the First Holy Communion programme were also there to ensure that the proceedings went smoothly!
Fifty-six of the children will make their First Holy Communion at St Joseph’s Church on Saturday, 16 October while the other four will receive the sacrament the following day at Holy Cross in Much Hadham.
Please keep the children in your prayers.
