In preparation for their Confirmation Day on Saturday, 16 July, over 40 of our young people recently met for a Half-Day Retreat in the Parish Centre.
It was a fulfilling session in which they, with their Catechists, enjoyed a number of activities. There was discussion time, in which they challenged themselves to consider questions such as why God is real and how they can keep their faith growing and live life as a disciple of Jesus. There was some play time, with a game of “Splat!”. There was also a group picnic, and although the weather meant that this had to be held indoors, spirits were certainly not dampened. Last but not least, there was valuable rehearsal time for the Confirmation Mass.
This brings to a close a series of seven thought-provoking and exciting sessions, organised and brilliantly led by the Catechists. All are now looking forward to celebrating the Big Day itself, which is fast-approaching.
