Helping our Parish Priest do his job

A parish priest consults a Parish Pastoral Council in order to be a better shepherd of his flock. Priests ask their councillors to investigate some aspect of the parish, reflect on it, come to a conclusion and make a recommendation. In brief, the work of the pastoral council is pastoral planning.

Pastoral Council of St Joseph & the English Martyrs Parish

The current Pastoral Council of St Joseph & The English Martyrs Parish is an appointed body which acts in an advisory capacity to the parish priest, Father Peter Harris, who has overall responsibility to the bishop for the conduct of parish affairs.

Recent PPC Discussions

At the last PPC meeting the PPC discussed:.

  • Ongoing oversight of the Windhill Churches Centre
  • How we can help families with young children so that the children are more engaged in the Mass
  • Maintenance of the Church
  • Catechesis initiative
  • Finance
  • Future growth of Bishop’s Stortford

If you have any item you would like to bring to the attention of the PPC, please either speak to any member of the PPC or if you prefer, you may put it in writing and drop it off at No.3 for the attention of the PPC Chair.
