Welcome to the Children and Families Resources Portal!
With lockdown still a reality for us, we have tried to put together a collection of resources which will help to enhance your weekly experience of the Mass and also provide you with some ideas for art & craft and for prayer as a family.
Do take some time to browse and discover some of the lovely online resources on offer. We hope you’ll find that these resources create opportunities for you to celebrate your faith as a family, with activities to suit all members!
“Let the little children come to me and do not stop them for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these”
(Matthew 19: 14)
Lord, you love children!
We thank you for the enthusiasm and love that they display in abundance. Give them courage and understanding at this time and may they experience the joy of your blessings. We pray that their families might always seek to draw them closer, day by day, to your sacred heart. Be with each family in their personal circumstances and remind each child and parent of how very special they are and how much you love them.
What is the point of Ordinary Time?
After all the celebration of the Season of Easter and Pentecost, we now enter into a period called Ordinary Time. But there is nothing “ordinary” about Ordinary Time!
Ordinary means “ordered” or “belonging to the usual order or course” and so Ordinary Time is a time of growing in faith, where we walk with Jesus and allows him to walk with us. Between now and Advent is a time to spend time getting to know Jesus by reading his story in the Bible and coming close to him in prayer.
It is an invitation to be with Jesus and know his presence with us in our day to day activities.
Kids Art and Craft
Let’s get creative…
This simple craft is a lovely way to remembering that Jesus is at the centre of our faith.
Let’s get musical…
Jesus Loves Me is a very old song, going back to the beginnings of what we know as Gospel Music
Ready, Steady, Go
Let’s make a difference
Laudato Si is the name of a recent Papal Encyclical exploring our role in caring for our world. CAFOD has produced some lovely family resources, aimed at breaking open the themes of this important document. Here is a PDF of things you can do at home, as a family, to explore how we can play our part in looking after our world.
