There are so many excellent podcasts being produced these days by great Catholic organisations and individuals. These podcasts can really help us deepen our faith, as well as edify and encourage us on the journey! Throughout 2023, we will be showcasing some of the excellent material out there and will be encouraging you to listen in….
You don’t need a fancy phone to listen to a podcast. Any desktop computer, tablet or similar device will do. The beauty of podcasts is that they are audio based, so they allow easy access for many people, including those with dyslexia or eye sight problems or the elderly, who might struggle with reading a long, written piece.

The Predecessor to the “Catechism in a Year” was the “Bible in a Year”, which became the most popular catholic podcast ever. Following its launch in January 2021, it was the number one podcast in all categories for much of January in the US and, by November 2021, it has achieved 142 million downloads and three billion minutes of listening time!
The Catechism in a Year
Following on from the incredibly successful podcast “The Bible in a Year” from Ascension Presents, Fr Mike Schmitz is back in 2023 with the “Catechism in a Year”, where he journeys with listeners to read through the entire Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) in 365 days. This podcast started on 1st January 2023, but all the previous episodes are available on all good podcast websites, so you can start at day one whenever you like and then listen from there.
