Advent is a period of preparation for the coming of baby Jesus on Christmas Day, and an essential part of this preparation for every Catholic is going to confession, or receiving the sacrament of Reconciliation.
Fr Peter and Fr Antonio will be making themselves available for confession on Saturday, 18 December at St Joseph’s Church, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. All are welcome and you do not have to book.
The Church strongly exhorts all its members to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation at least once a year, and Advent is a fitting time to do it. Don’t worry if you have not gone to confession for over a year or even several years. Nobody will “tell you off” and you will be glad you did. Receiving God’s forgiveness and being reconciled with Him and the Church is the best gift that you could give yourself this Christmas.
