Back in November, 45 of our young people enrolled enthusiastically into the Confirmation Preparation Programme for 2021/2022. This is now well underway and has certainly been a rewarding and worthwhile experience so far.
At the five sessions attended, candidates have had the opportunity to explore their faith in small groups, guided by their Catechists. They have thought deeply about questions such as “If Jesus were to come to our Church tomorrow, what would he be happy and unhappy with?”. They have heard from visitors and parishioners about their experiences of being Catholic and celebrated Mass together.
Confirmation responsibilities have also helped them feel a more integral part of parish life. Some have been busy assisting with ministries connected to Mass, such as reading and collecting, while others have tried their hand at new skills, such as gardening and web design.
It has been a thought-provoking and wonderful journey so far, with more still to look forward to, including a half-day Retreat in June and the Big Day itself in July!
