One of the things the Church requires of us is to “make our Easter Duties” in these weeks of Lent and Eastertide. This includes celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation: that is, going to confession.
If you have not been for a while, why not turn over a new leaf and make this year 2022 special? Every Saturday, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, a priest is available at St Joseph and the English Martyrs Church to hear confessions. There is also an Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament during that hour.

One of the secrets of a good confession is a thorough examination of conscience. To see in a dark room, we need a light, so before we celebrate the sacrament, we should ask the Holy Spirit to shine the light of Christ in our heart and mind, that we may know our sins and make a good confession. There are various types of examinations of conscience but regardless of which one you use to prepare yourself for the Sacrament it should be rooted in Scripture; particularly, the Ten Commandments and Beatitudes. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops list a few examples of Examinations of Conscience that can help you prepare for the Sacrament.
