Bringing our vision to reality…
As Christians we are all part of the Body of Christ, and we are each called to use our gifts, talents and treasures to glorify God and His Church. Our vision for growing God’s Kingdom here in Bishop’s Stortford can only become a reality if we all play our part in using our gifts, talents and treasures. Two weeks ago we shared our vision for the parish, and last week we shared with you the financial landscape that our parish faces. This week we are asking you to prayerfully consider how you can support your parish church through your time and talents, and through your Offertory giving.
Growing new disciples
Continuing to fund the role of our Catechetical Co-ordinator as they develop their work in supporting our Catechists and recruiting more volunteers in the Parish to help run our Programmes for the Sacraments and for those who want to join the Catholic Church. This will cost about £10,000 per year.
Repairing and maintaining our three churches
We anticipate that we will have to spend at least £250,000 over the next five years to keep our three churches, the Presbytery and the Parish Centre in a good and safe state of repair.
Securing the long term future of our three churches
We are seeking to establish a Building and Development Endowment Fund for our churches of about £100,000 which will allow us to help future generations in caring for our buildings.
