A New Initiative

Soul Food takes place once a month on Mondays of term time.

We meet in the parish hall (in the Windhill Churches Centre)

Each evening starts at 7.30pm, with refreshments served from 7.15pm.

We look forward to welcoming you there!

Soul Food has grown out of a desire to provide more opportunity for us to grow in our faith as a parish and connect more as a community. Everyone is welcome to join us for our monthly Monday sessions! Many of the sessions will include a video or speaker sharing on a given theme, and each evening can be enjoyed as a standalone session – you don’t have to come to every one. The purpose of our Soul Food Monday sessions is three-fold:

  • To provide an opportunity to build community and deepen bonds between us
  • To offer formation around various topics of our Catholic faith
  • To create space for sharing & reflection

On this page, we will outline the upcoming dates and themes of each evening.

We will also endeavour to provide links to any videos missed (where possible) or any sheet given out, so that those who wish to catch up with a session are able to do so.

As well as that we will, on occasion, provide some further links on the topics covered which parishioners may find to be of interest.

Outside Speaker

David Oliviere – “Stories of Hospice and Palliative Care”

Former Director of Education at St Christopher’s Hospice

Following much debate this past year over the legalising assisted suicide, David Oliviere, retired social worker and former director of Education at St Christopher’s Hospice in London, joins us at Soul Food to share something about Palliative Care – what it is, how is all started and the gift that it can be to those who are dying and their families.

As ever there’ll be time to listen and then to share in small groups and all are most welcome to what should be a fascinating and inspiring evening.
