Vatican Museums have launched a series of virtual tours exploring six famous gallery spaces from their extraordinary collection including the:
- Raphael’s Rooms,
- Sistine Chapel,
- New Wing,
- Pio Clementino Museum,
- Profane Museum, and
- Salon Sistino.
Art offers important opportunities for evangelisation, also reminding onlookers of the beauty of God’s creation. Speaking to Vatican News about the importance of art in exploring the Easter story, the Head of the Office of Educational Activities for Vatican Museums, Sr Emanuela Edwards, said: “The great artists over the centuries have left us an enormous patrimony that can help us think about every moment of the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of the Lord. These beautiful works are incredibly moving and can be a means to lift our hearts to God during this time.”
